On March 10th, 36-year-old Joseph Willis reportedly broke into a home in the rural Kitts Hill area of Lawrence County, Ohio, only to meet an armed homeowner who shot him twice, sending him fleeing.
According to WSAZ News Channel 3, the homeowner “reportedly shot [the suspect] in the stomach and cheek.” The suspect then jumped in his car and fled, only to run off the road in his weakened state.
In a video posted on the WSAZ website, neighbor Tommy Wheeler said he was driving up the road, and “there was a car in the ditch. So we stopped to see what was going on. We figured it was a wreck or something.” Wheeler said there was “blood and stuff” all over the car, and when he looked in to ask Willis if he was okay, he answered, “I’ve been shot.”
