Conceal Carry Permits Surge in California.

There has been a surge of people ready to get their hands on a conceal and carry permit after a Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling last month that relaxed the California’s laws on the issue.

Sacramento County alone has 7,000 people on the waiting list.

Typically, San Joaquin County has 20 appointments per month. For this month alone, they’ve seen close to 400.

Craig Deluz with the Calguns Foundation says in the past, California’s 58 county sheriff’s departments could decide who gets a permit. That’s not entirely the case now.

“Those who haven’t been able to get one may have to wait longer, but it’s nothing compared to what the laws were before,” Deluz said.

Gage Young at The Gun Range in North Highlands says since the court’s ruling, classes have been filling up.
